Dr. Lucia Notterpek named president-elect of association of neuroscience chairs

Lucia Notterpek, Ph.D., an expert in the scientific understanding of neurodegeneration and fundamental neuroscience, has been named president elect of the Association of Medical School Neuroscience Department Chairpersons (AMSNDC).

The AMSNDC is dedicated to promoting neuroscience as a scientific discipline and representing the interests of departments within medical school settings whose major focus resides in research and training in the neural sciences.

Notterpek is chair of the department of neuroscience at the UF College of Medicine, and her laboratory’s research contributes to the development of effective therapies for demyelinating disorders of the nervous system, including hereditary neuropathies and multiple sclerosis.
