Fixel Institute clinician earns Young Dietitian of the Year honors

Carley Rusch, M.S., R.D.N., L.D./N., a clinical dietician at the Norman Fixel Institute for Neurological Diseases at UF Health, was named Recognized Young Dietitian of the Year by the Florida Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics. Rusch facilitates an innovative nutrition program at the Fixel Institute through advanced nutrition care and research.

The purpose of the Recognized Young Dietitian of the Year award is to recognize the competence and activities of younger dietitians in the Florida Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics, a state-affiliate of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics. Criteria for selection include those who have demonstrated concern for the promotion of optimal health and nutritional status of the population; and demonstrated leadership (e.g., in legislation, research, education, management, etc.) either in the Academy or employment. State recipients for the year will be published in a fall issue of the Journal of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics.
