Ariel Walker, a Ph.D. candidate in the department of neuroscience, is the latest investigator to be featured in MBI Rising Stars, a video series highlighting up-and-coming neuroscience researchers at UF.

Under the mentorship of Jada Lewis, Ph.D. and Jose Abisambra, Ph.D., Walker is investigating the interaction between early tau protein abnormalities and amyloid beta proteins in the brain, hallmarks of Alzheimer’s disease, with the hope of identifying approaches to slow or prevent the disease.

Walker is the current recipient of the Brooks/Hagood Family Scholarship, supported by the MBI, and recently completed the Clinical and Translational Pre-Doctoral Training in Alzheimer’s Disease and Related Dementias T32 program.
