Brain Awareness Week

Brain Awareness Week is a global campaign to foster public enthusiasm and support for brain science. Every March, partners host imaginative activities in their communities that share the wonders of the brain and the impact brain science has on our everyday lives.

At the McKnight Brain Institute, Brain Awareness Week is facilitated by UF graduate and undergraduate students who belong to the North Central Florida Chapter of the Society for Neuroscience. Throughout the week, chapter members visit public and private schools leading interactive games and hands-on demonstrations.

Coordinated by the Dana Foundation, a private philanthropic organization that supports brain research, Brain Awareness Week is celebrated in March by more than 5,600 partners in 120 countries. The goal of Brain Awareness Week is to raise public awareness of the progress and benefits of brain research.
